I'm booked on the trip leaving the US on 7/20. I assume that this means the 7/21 trip, with a flight day on the 20th. So I'll be there too. I'm going to be flying from Israel on the 19th or 20th. Haven't figured out the details yet. Looking forward to the trip!

***Modification of plan***
I'm arriving in Cairo on July 20th, and I'll have a room at the hotel where we're meeting. If anyone else will be there early also, give me a heads up and we can maybe share the room to lower costs or hang out while we wait for the rest of the group to show up.

Hi ... I just found out from my travel agent that this tour has been CANCELLED due to poor interest ... I'm so sad ... but I am now booking with Contiki's sister company, Trafalgar, because they offer the same basic trip, same dates, for less money and I've already booked my flights ... anyone else going to switch over too?

Sad because I'm no longer going to experience a Contiki trip,

Avery

I'm going to call them in the morning to confirm this. i got an email saying that you find out if a trip has been cancelled if it doesn't say "Book it" next to the departure date.

"If a tour is cancelled, the web will not show a "book it" button next to the departure."

I'm in california, so I'll call when they open in the morning and I'll post as soon as I confirm this.

I called Contiki this morning and the guy who I spoke to said that it looked like the tour had been "withdrawn" but that the website hadn't been updated yet. I'm also going to call my tour agent tomorrow and ask her to look into it for me.

If it's cancelled, I'm going to try to get on the trip leaving July 27th. The guy this morning said that this one had become a "guaranteed departure" but that since it hadn't started as a garanteed, that it had probably become one because over 25 people had signed up for it. So, if you're still interested in Egypt lets see if we can all hop into the next one.

Keep me posted the answers you come up with.

Hi Rebecca (and anyone else needing to switch),

I'm pretty sure it's the "Egyptian Experience" trip, because my travel agent told me it was the same exact length and basically an identical tour, but a little cheaper ... I have to be in Greece on July 31 also, so that's why I went ahead with switching companies. I'm expecting an email in a day or so with all my confirmation details, etc ... I'll send you an email then!

Hi Avery,
I spoke to my travel agent this morning and organised the switch to the egyptian experience. only problem is they dont have single supplement and i miss out on my early bird discount so it ends up being a bit more expensive. just wondering if you wanted to arrange sharing rooms to save a bit of cash?
are you doing another contiki in greece also?
