Hmm thinking about doing this tour as well , before venturing off into the rest of the Middle East.

I wonder if Ramadan would affect the trip at all ? Going to do a bit of research here

Haha sorry to invade your thread :P Ramadan means that you won't be able to eat, drink or smoke in public (though international hotels will be ok) during daylight hours. And yes that includes water. I've heard varying reports on how it affects your trip, so it might even be better!

Hey Ladybug.. that sounds interesting - it's for the whole of September isn't it? I don't actually think that would bother me too much because I always spend way too much on food and drink when I go on holiday - I can spend my money on other stuff instead!

I am also thinking about doing the Egypt and Nile tour that starts the 6th September. It just depends on my work, they will have to confirm my holiday weeks in September.

I come from Holland, 22 years old and this will be my first Contiki tour! I am really looking forward to it!

The travel agency gave me today information about the Egypt tour, so now I know everything (prices etc) and have to confirm it next weak, if I want to do it or not...

Hi everyone! I am also going to be booking up for this tour (starting in Cairo on 6th Sept 08). Will be my second contiki tour as i am off on my first contiki tour in May to Australia. I dont know much about ramadan...is it likely to be a problem??

I don't know for sure if it will be a problem but I think tourists can eat and drink during the day. I read that tourist restaurants etc are opened. People there are not allowed to eat and drink until the sun goes down.
