Wondering if anyone out there knows about the optional excursions...I really don't want to show up to Egypt carrying a wad of cash to pay for the optionals when I get there....do they take credit cards and if so, is it safe?
Thanks. |

Hi there,
On the first day you can pay for some of the optionals (Abu Simbel, Hot Balloon Ride, Cairo Sound and Light Show and the US$20 for tips) by credit card or cash. There are a few extra costs that accumulate on the tour (from memory it was the camel ride at the pyramids, lunch after the pyramids, and the village tour) and they get you to pay for them on the last night of the cruise. They don't take card for them but you can pay in either US dollars or the Egyptian pound. There are plenty of safe ATMs around, but remember that your bank charges heaps every transaction so it's best to take out a lot at once. I did this tour last month, it was so amazing and lots of fun!! If you have any other questions just private message me |
