10th as well! Should be good, right after sandstorm weather is over but not ridiculously hot as in June-Aug (although still very hot I'm sure)
Did you decide what day to go yourself yet?

I might do the 16th as well...unless I choose to do it at the end of the Europe tour rather than the beginning. It will probably be less hot in May though although I worry about getting sick and traveling for a month after because I hear its common to get sick in Egypt! Any thoughts?

The problem essentially is due to the food and water. Most people living in first world countries lack the immunity. We are just lucky to be living in first world conditions where the standard of food preparation and water is very high.So most travellers are going to experience food poisoning of varying degrees at some stage. Some will get it big time 6+ No 2 per day and it will be a total tour of toilets for them, which is an adventure in itself. However there is preventative medication called travelan which we can buy over here. Check out www.travelan.com.auIf you do succumb to any problems buy some Entocid - Its a local Egyptian medication formulated for their conditions.
