Hi,

I went on this tour last month and it was cold! During the days the temperature was in the low 20s (celcius) and at night in some places it went down to 6 degrees!

If I could do it again I would definately pack more than one pair of jeans and jumper.. and I would bring some comfortable gym pants for the train ride.

About being conservative - I found that when I was on the tour wearing shorts that go to the knees and sleeveless singlets were fine. I was never hassled and I didn't feel awkward. But I would suggest bringing a cardigan or light jumper so you can cover up your arms if you need too. When I was wondering around Cairo before the tour I felt the need to be more conservative but it wasn't a major issue.

Oh and bring a small backpack for day trips! Some of the girls were carrying around their handbags while we were wandering through the tombs and it looked uncomfortable.

Have fun, I really enjoyed the trip would definately recommend it to everyone Smiler

Thank-you so much for your response! Smiler
It really helps out! Smiler
I'm spending 5 days in London after my trip so I'm concerned about what to pack for Egypt as well as London and if my bag will be too big lol I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Thanks again! Smiler

I brought sneakers and wore them a lot, they were good for all the walking around we did. I also had thongs/flip flops and just a pair of normal casual shoes.

Not sure if you're a guy or girl but.. girls don't bring heels! I read a blog of someone who did this trip, and they said they came in handy so I brought mine, but personally I had no use for them at all Frowner

Definitely bring sneakers, it's fairly dirty and dusty there and your feet will get really gross really fast. Bring sandals too though.

I mostly wore capris pants, which was conservative enough, but not too hot for the hot days too.

Ez - I went at the start of February. It was usually pretty warm during the days, but at night and early mornings it was very cold. I only brought one pair of jeans and jumper, I wish I had more. But it is probably a bit warmer now that it's April. I had a fantastic time!! The tour was just really good and Egypt is amazing Smiler But it's so short, I felt like I just got to know everyone then suddenly we went home. Oh and the group was big, 40 people! Apparently the groups can be as big as 60 people.

Angie - I just brought a standard suitcase, it wasn't a problem (it was a bit squishy on the overnight train but not a major issue) and most people had the same.

Angie, I took a 25 inch suitcase, that was pretty typical.

The compartments on the overnight train are a bit small so larger suitcases can be a problem. This is essentially a full 6 day tour so there really isn't much reason to bring lots of clothes.

Praha is right, but I think you bag will fit, it will just be a bit squishy. The only thing you really do on the train is sleep though so it isn't that much of a problem, just put the bag up on your bed when you need space to get changed.

I realize that, but I'm also going to London directly after my trip to Egypt so I need to pack a little bit of extra clothes.
