Who knew that Contiki considers the word "C-H-R-I-S-T-I" to be a bad word...even when I'm just trying to say my friend's name. Maybe a misspelling would be better: her name is Kristy. Does that make the Contiki auto-moderators happy?

Where is everyone? This trip is less than a month away. Isn't everyone else psyched about it like me?! I hope so, but it seems no one else on my tour is using the message boards ahead of time to locate tourmates. Bummer. I was hoping to locate someone else that would be arriving a day early like we were...

Hey There Kamala!

Yes there are a few people coming on this trip, I'll be going along with my friend Michael. We're both 20-something guys from the Toronto area, and we decided last November to go to Egypt. Well, actually it was me announcing to 10 other people on a road trip that I would be travelling there, and Michael asking about a month later if I was serious. Of course I was! And now we're here.

We're leaving on the 24th and will be in Cairo the afternoon of the 25th. The plan is to go to Jerusalem for a few days, if I can convince Michael. He's still a bit hesitant for obvious reasons, but hopefully we'll be able to get in and out with no problem.

This will be my first tour, but not my first time backpacking (Europe, North & South America already done), so it will be such a relaxing change knowing that everything is already planned. I just have to sit back and enjoy the ride and the company. Can't wait!
