Hi Tori!

Will you be posting a trip review? That'd be great.

In your opinion, do you think that we have enough free time - therefore we do need to do some research before we go?

Thanks!

Haha sorry guys, I completely forgot I made this topic! I wish they sent you notifications when someone responds... lol

First of all..I can't remember the name, but I can tell you the campsite was fun! The cabins are kind of small but really, why do you need a big one? The beds are comfy and you share with 3 other people in two rooms. The shower is a bit weird... in fact it's non existent, it's just a shower head in the corner of the bathroom! But it gets the job done.
I even really liked all of the food from the campsites, no one on our tour complained!
It wasn't too far from Paris... a cab was about $20! We really didn't have any problems with how far away the camps were... the bus will pick you up at a certain time or you can cab it, and split with other people it's no biggie Smiler

Next, Yes I am making a review! I'm currently working on it right now, I'll put it on the boards as soon as it's finished Smiler
And DEFINITELY there is enough free time! In fact, most people thought we had TOO MUCH free time in most cities (like Florance, Venice, etc) and ended up coming back to the campsite early!
No complaints... "some" things are a bit rushed, but not so rushed that you miss anything. The only place I found that we didn't have much time was in Lucerne, Switzerland...we only spent about 3 hours there... but, it's not a huge place, so we still got to see everything.

As far as the optionals... omg I loved them all! I did all of them...and I think they are all worth it. I went over expecting the meals to be horrible, but I was pleasantly surprised! Plus it's so much fun with the group! I loved the Space Disco, all of the dinners... our tour manager even managed to get us tickets to the Moulin Rouge (because Nouvelle Eve was closed!)
The white water rafting was so much fun... the paragliding...ahh, just everything!

Natty, I DID get sick...horribly sick! As did most of our tour. I would DEFINITELY recommend bringing antibiotics from home, and strong cold and flu tablets! We all got the cough, as well as stuffy/runny noses. It was unfortunate but I didn't let it bring my trip down.
The cost of the trip...I actually came home with money. I kept my budget around 50 euros a day and that was fine! Some days I spent a little more but there are lots of days on the coach that you don't spend much at all! I had days I got away with only spending 10 euro on Lunch!

Unfortunately, I dont know about the Alcohol because I didn't carry any over, but I know that alcohol in Europe is cheap! I didn't plan on drinking much because of my budget but I was able to drink every night! hehe... plus there is lots of free wine Wink

As far as laundry.... laundry in europe is expensive and to be honest you dont have much time to do it! You do have the option to get it done in Rome by a sweet lady who washes and folds everything for you, and it's very cheap. The only other times we had to do laundry were at the campsite in Antibes (the french riviera) and in Switzerland, but it will cost you 15SF!
I did laundry once while I was on tour...and Im a girl, I survived! Just make sure you bring some fabric spray or maybe a bounce sheet to freshen up your suitcase! And you can always wash things like socks and underwear in the sink, that's what I did!

One thing that I feel I should point out, because I wasn't expecting it.... you don't actually stop in Nice! You drive through it to get to Monaco. You still get to see the beach but I was looking forward to swimming in the Med Sea... but, overall that is my only complaint, and it seems so small compared to how much fun everything else was!

You guys will not regret this tour, it was the time of my life! When I got home I was so depressed for a week, it will change your life! Smiler

Hi Tori!

Thanks for this info, it's really helpful!

I will remember to do lots of research then for extra things to do just in case. Can't wait to read your review.

Very impressed that you can get buy on only 50 euros a day - I was worried 75 euros a day wouldn't be enough. Did you buy many souvenirs with this?

BTW I think you can get notified of when things get posted - I haven't tried it, but at the top of the page there's a button called 'Notify' so I'm assuming that's what it does.

Cool, thaks heaps!!

i didn't really buy too many souvenirs, but i did buy something from every country. a few of the souvenirs were pricey too, like an 88euro Contiki Limited Edition Beer Stein!
(dont worry, you'll get the chance to buy one too in st goar! hehe)

But...I DID spend alot of money on alcohol! which i hadnt planned on... hehe
and i still got by fine with 50 euros a day. honestly i was surprised with how many meals were included, plus your optional dinners.... at the campsites they always serve you dinner and breakfast....and most of your lunches come from truck stops, so it's like 5 euros for a sandwich and drink!
it's definitely do-able to get by with 50 euros a day Smiler

Hi Tori,
I was wondering, do we really have to bring a sleeping bag? Or would a blanket be good enough? Thanks!
