Will be in London (Royal National Hotel) a few nights prior to and after the tour if anyone is interested in meeting up to do a bit of exploring around...

 i'm hayley 20 from brissy also traveling alone next year. I'm
doing this tour to but i leave a lil bit later on the 12th of may
because i'm doing a tour before this one. i'm so happy that i have
finally found someone that's doing it around the same time as me i
thought it was just me interested in doing this tour all year.... Is
this your 1st trip overseas? It's mine and pretty freaked but so happy
at the same time i just wish i knew i was'nt the only one doing this
tour because i don't want them to cancel it on me because then it was
muck up my plans..

Hey there Hayley..Thanks for your msg...Firstly, don't panic about being on your own - cause you wont be for long!! I did my first Contiki a couple of years ago and think I may have chatted with one person before I left, but when I got there we had a full bus so there was plently of people to talk to and hang out with...Plus the time of year you are going is the beginning of the northern summer months, so you'll find lots and lots of people travelling at that time..So kind of hope that has eased your fears of being alone..This will be my 5th overseas trip..I have travelled solo before and love it..Little freaky the first time but its my preferred way to travel now...All the times I have travelled alone but have never felt alone because there is always someone around to talk to and I have made with friends with lots of people from all over the world - very handy if you ever need a place to crash and vice versa...I found the contiki bus a bit like a mobile big brother house - you get to know each other very quickly..Some people you'll like and others you wont but thats part of the fun!! My name is Sheena and I am a 20 year old female from New Zealand.
I will also be travelling on the European Experience starting on May 4th (My 21st Birthday) . 

This will be my first Contiki Tour, and after much indecision about travelling solo to the other side of the world, I have decided to just do it. I am so scared but so excited at the same time.

I will be spending a few days in London before the tour starts, and staying in London a few weeks after the tour finishes before travelling to Mykonos resort for a few days then back home to New Zealand from there.

Hi Sheena! How are you? Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have just moved from Sydney up to Queensland and only just got my broadband put on, so sorry about that.

Well its great to hear from someone else going to be on the tour. I was beginning to think it was going to be just me, the bus driver and the tour manager!

I'm arriving in London on 29th April and will be staying at the Royal National until the tour starts. I'll only be in London for about 2 nights after the tour ends and then its back home.

I know what you mean about being scared/excited about going. I've been overseas before by myself but not being a huge fan of flying, I'm not really looking forward to the 23 hour flight. I'm sure the end result will be worth it though.

Good timing for your 21st!!! Definately have to have a drink or 3 to celebrate that night.

Hey Katie! I definately hadn't thought u had forgotten about me - more worried that something had happened so its a relief to hear from you.

I think im pretty much set to go. I went shopping for all the necessities last weekend and got all my Contiki documents, tickets etc from my travel agent today so im very excited! Now i've just got to think about what clothes i'm going to take and get my bag packed.

Not long to go now. I hope everything is going well with you, look forward to hearing from you again in the short time before we leave.
