Hey again!!!

I dont actually live very close to London - approximately 4 hours away.... but I will be staying in the RN - Hotel on the 12th due to the early departure time on the 13th.

Places of interest in London are the usual - The London Eye (its very good - you can see everything on a really sunny/clear day), Madamme Tusuades is also cool if you are familiar with Brittish celebrities, royals etc.
Theres also places like downing street and all the typical touristy places.

I myself love the art/photography galleries - the Saachi gallery is a favourite, but the Tate Modern is also very interesting (thats if your interested in the cultural stuff).

I love Southbank....it a pretty expensive part of London- but there are some nice wine bars and a very lovely Crepes resturaunt.
Im not in London very often... but the Westend is usually the place where people seem to head for theatre and the arts, trendy resturants etc.

Sorry if that is not of much use.... Im a bit of a country gal..... (I come from the sticks/country) - Going to London is normally for work/student things/galleries.

If there is anything more specific you wanted to find out about please dont hesitate to ask and I will try to help out.

Where abouts are you from and have you been to England much before?
What are you most looking forward to on the European Experience?

Talk Soon.

It will be your birthday?? WOW - thats pretty special! I hope you have a really lovely time over here in England.
Yes Wales will be too far away... it take about a day just to travel there. But that is a great excuse to come back over to Great Britain more often!

Getting around in London will be very expensive yes... however, you can buy tube tickets (day pass) and use the tube to get from place to place rather than use taxi's and buses. Sometimes the bus tours around the city are a very good way to get about and see things.

As with most places- usually things are within walking distance.
I remember the last time I went to London for the Film Festival - we ate in a lovely place like ' chinatown' or something like that..... it was like little china - all original/authentic chineese food. Its definately worth checking out some of the smaller, lesser known areas too (usually you will just stumble across them).

As it is a city - food and dining out might be a little more than usual too.

I bet you must be really excited to be travelling over here. I think you are really brave to do it alone - but you will meet up with loads of lovely people when you are here! I am looking forward to meeting everyone too! Hopefully we can make some nice new friends.

Do you think the majority of people coming on this trip will be single travellers?

My travel agent booked me in to the hotel where Contiki picks us up from on the 13th @ 6:00am.

Look forward to meeting you in a few months!

DO IT...DO IT!! BOOK THE TOUR!!
I finally sorted out my travel insurance this morning - now it feels like I am one step closer to the tour! I can not wait.
Please do not worry about "doing it alone". It will be scarey for the first few moments - but once you meet other 'lone travellers' such as myself - it will all be brilliant and exciting!!!

I am travelling alone for the first time too!
But I think everyone will meet new people and make some new friends.

It is going to be brill.

Hope to see you on the 13th!
Where about are you from Chris?

Hi,

I will definatley be traveling and although it is a little scarey to do it alone im going to do it.
apparently is is more expensive if yoiu travel before the 15th August, but i will cheak out the costings and see by how much. I also need to clear it with work, weather or not i can move it a week earler...
I am in thailand at the moment and will sort it out when i get back next week.
I was born in Australia (in 1982),,,so it looks like i may be the oldest on this trip...in years anyway..., but mum was born in Wales, stratford upon avon ( or however it's slept) and we have cousins and stuff living in cardiff...

i dont know those places you guys are talking about but they sound cool. i know thailand but never been

mates been asking about this trip and i think he wants to go. he just needs a push to actually do it. travelling by yourself shouldnt be to scarey. like rist said you'll meet other people there and you never know, you might just end up staying a couple of days exploring.

im from brisbane near the city. where you from dude?
