Hey there,

I am looking towards going away for the may 16th or 24th tour but I need to get my **** together and actually book the trip. I am going to be traveling alone so I am kinda nervous yet super excited.

So who's going on these tours? Give me a shout!

Also...how much money are you going to put aside for travel money? My budget is quite tight right now due to blasted tuition fees but I am graduating so all is good.

Cheers

Hi Ashley,

I am going on the European Experience that leaves Canada May 24th. I live in London, Ont Canada. I am also travelling alone. I would suggest if you havent looked into booking to book soon, because it is a busy time of year. I was suppose to go on the May 27th departure but it got over booked/full booked.

Spending money wise, I'm not exactly sure, friends who have gone to europe say it isn't too bad, it just depends on how much partying you plan on doing

Anyhow I'd love to chat and get to know some people a little bit as well since I am going solo,  who knows if your in Ontario maybe we'd be on the same flight, which I have found a great deal for, better then paying for the flight thru Contiki

Cheers

Ryan

Hey,

I actually got my "****" together earlier than expected (i mention **** again since i noticed this site does not approve of such inappropriate language.....and find it amusing that a portion of my previous msg have received the honour of getting the star (****) status. Thus, i use **** again....muahaha).

Anyways, more to the point, I booked for may 16th. Too bad....tho....it would have been cool to chat with someone and then meet up in London,Eng. But we can still chat it up.......no harm in that.

Did or do you go to Western? I was actually in London, ON last weekend.

Anyway,

Gotta go to work now

Later

Um no I didn't go to Western, where are you from? what were you doing up in my parts, London. I went to college and now I am working as a Medical Radiation Technologist, you should switch your travel date if they will let you haha, would be nice to know someone as well. I am 24 by the way and have grown up in the London area, what do you do school or work?

hey,

Radiation Technologist, very cool.

I am 22 from the Toronto area and i go to U of T but i'll be graduating this yr. So, i guess this trip is a graduation present for myself to chill and have some fun with random ppl i don't know since i'll be going alone. How awesome and weird is that.

I went to London to hang out with some friends....well actually my best friends really close friends. So, i don't really know the people in London very well, i just came along for the ride with my best friend. Actually i also have another London tie.....my brother went to Western 2 yrs ago, so i went a bunch of times to see him.

Are you going to take a suit case on your trip or a massive backpack?

Cheers,

Ash

Hey Ashley,

Looks like we're booked on the same tour, and I'm so excited about it. I'm finishing up my BComm at the U of A in Edmonton right now, and can't wait to get out of these god damned computer labs! Smiler

Personally I'm 23, and am also doing the tour by myself. I'm a bit nervous about doing it alone, but whatever everyone will be in the same boat, it's all good.

When do you get to London? I'm flying there on May 15th as some friends of mine are doing a different tour that's leaving that day, so we're going to fly there together. We're planning to kick things off right by doing some jaegerbombs in that Calgary airport, haha.

As for the backpack vs. suitcase debate, I'm going to get a big backpack I think. After the contiki trip is done I'm going to meet up with a friend who is already in the UK and bum around with him for a few week.

Good luck with your exams, and talk to you soon!

Taylor

Hey Ashley,

I just bought myself a backpack, instead of luggage, it cost me about $180 for a 70litre pack and I got the kind of back that is back loading not top loading, then seem to make more sense. Also after my tour I am going to Germany and probably Czech Republic for about 4/5 days each, gonna try n go to a World Cup game and see Berlin. So did you decide to change your trip date placs haha, and join me and we can start the party on the flight over to London, would be lots of fun...let me know haha

Hey Taylor,

So, officially you are the only person on our trip leaving May 16th that has responded. (A hint to the people that are going on this trip.....say hello and make your presence known).

I'll be getting to London in the morning on May 17th. The trek to the hotel will be interesting....i plan to take the good old reliable transit, fun times. But i heard that I won't be able to check into the hotel until 1 or 2. Is that true? It's really not that bad b/c it'll give me more time to explore the city, i just need to figure out a way to drop off my luggage (i am pretty sure i will use a suit case). Hopefully, i can use my charms and sweet talk my way into letting the hotel hold my stuff until i can check in.....LOL.

Anyways, it would be cool to meet up on that day i get in, as we evidently will eventually.

Ok, i must stop procrastinating.....my blasted school work beckons me; my trusty ball and chain.

Kick some ass on exams.

Cheers,
Ash

Hi,

One of these days I will be calling to book the same tour on May 16. I'm pretty nervous also--I've been wavering between going and not going because I'm not sure I want to do this solo. It's definitely encouraging to know that I won't be the only one. So hopefully I'll meet all of you assuming I get my act together and book it soon and when I do book it, that it's not full. Smiler

Have a good one!
Suzi

Hey,

omg.....you are going to have a blast in czech........beautiful city.

i got an amazing deal on my flight. so i must decline on the request of yours. Though i do appreciate such enthusiasm. You never know, we may end up meeting up somewhere in Europe unexpectingly. Maybe you should consider changing your departure date....would be a great time.....lol.

Cheers

Hey,

Nothing like last minute planning!  I am also going on the May 16th Euro Experience. I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2005, and just completed a work term, so I figured that now was a good time to travel.  Oh, an i am going myself too and am 22.

I am leaving Calgary on the 12th and spending the a few nights in London before the tour starts.  I guess i don't have to worry about missing playoff hockey now . . .sigh.
