85 days to go!!! My first trip to Bali, second with Contiki. I have seen every review out there for this place and it looks great! Not a bad thing sad about it. Anyone else going in Oct? I will have been there for about 2 weeks when you get there. So I am sure I will have the shopping down and can help ya out. I would not worry about the room thing. Everything I have heard about this place is great. Good people, lots to do and safe. Plus, you don't like your who you are with, you CAN change rooms.
Hahaha you girls dont know how easy it is to shop over there.. you will get ripped off at least once while your there but who cares your there to have a awesome time. Also they have a supermarket next door to the resort so if your thinking of taking heaps of soap and shampoo or anything like that dont bother just buy it next door its cheap as.. Arrival tax is 25US dollars, 100,000rupiah on departure thats for everyone.. Look if you like the stuff you use at home its always good to bring it but totally upto you. Do you have a myspace or facebook at all?? What day do you arrive into Bali Jen? Speak to you soon

I wont be there when you guys will be as I just got back from there a week ago and I stayed in a Pool Terrace Room with my mate I went over. It is a great resort but the rumors are true it has been brought out my some English people and they have already started to change things (so far just the furniture and Decor - looks horrible compared to what it was before).
The Supermarket next door is great and you can change money there too (its a much better rate there than it is at the resort). I put about $200USD on my Resort card when I got there and didnt even use it all (but you get the money back in Rhp when you check out). I did the 4 hour Spa package and it cost me about $45USD - so worth it. If you want to do any tours the best thing is to hire a driver from another tour company outside the resort as it is MUCH cheaper. A group of us hired a driver for the day and we went up to Ubud and did the Elephant Ride had lunch and it cost us 700,000 rp (through the resort it would have cost 675,000 or something but that was only for half the day and only to do the Elephant Ride) AS for the Airport Taxes. Its $10(or $15) for 7days or USD$25 for 8-30 days. The depature tax is 150,000 rp (best thing to do it when you get money changed for the first time put it aside and even better put it in one of the safety deposit boxes you can use at the resort. Also the food is okay for dinners and Breakfast but dont go expecting great things. I did and was dispointed. Some of the dinners where okay (Mexican Night was the best) but also try and go ut for dinner some nights experience Bali in its true form. Its not that expensive to eat out either. Waterbom park is lame...so much better things out there than that. Also be aware that when you are ordering of f room service or buying drinks at the bar etc they add 21% surcharge. So even when theres a cocktail you want and its 40,000rp its really 48,000. But thats still pretty okay. The pool is fantastic, but if your not in a room with the easy pool access and your own pool chairs then you need to get down there early as there are not many other sun loungers for eveyone else. Doesnt matter though cos we ended up using the sun loungers that where for the rooms that werent being used. Oh yeah anyone wanting to buy DVD's dont spend anymore than 10,000 each. There are HEAPS of places around that do buy 10 get 4 free. and MAKE SURE you get them to check them before you buy. Anyway Hope you all enjoy it. I know I did. I just wish I had stayed longer
