Maybe one of the moderators can answer this or someone who's already travelled with Contiki? I'm wondering what counts as a metal frame backpack. I have a backpack with wheels and the frame is completely covered like a suitcase. I'd like to take it, but I can just as easily bring my suitcase if it's not allowed.

Hi Suzy,
I was confused by this very issue when I took my first Contiki trip in Europe. They don't want any backpacks with an exterior metal frame - I have seem them around but they aren't very common. I think that you have will be just fine with your backpack. Almost all large backpacks have a metal frame inside of them to support the contents inside. Hope this helps, what trip are you doing? I suspected as much, but I wanted to be sure. Mine is constructed the same as a suitcase, just a little floppier
I'm taking the Reefs and Rainforests tour in OZ leaving Sydney Jan 7th. After that I'm taking the Grand Explorer in NZ from Jan 28 - Feb 11th. I can't wait! Suzy |

I think by metal frame, they mean the old school hiking backpacks with the metal on the outside which is really obvious, you should be fine with yours now.

I figured that was the type of back-pack they meant, but I just wanted to sure. Thanks for the input!
