Thinking of doing the reefs and rainforests tour in January. Have never been on a contiki tour before or been to Australia or travelled alone!!!!! Thats a lot of nevers just wondering if there are any similar travellers out there?????

Hey, Im doing Reefs and Rainforests on 14th Jan Sydney to Cairns, never been to Australia or travelled alone either but really looking forward to it, should be loads of fun and a great way to meet loads of new people!! what date in Jan are you thinking of?

I was planning on doing the Cairns to Sydney Reefs and Rainforests on Jan 13th so I could spend some time in Sydney at the end and then fly on to New Zealand. But Iv heard that if you go Sydney-Cairns everyone starts the tour together but if you go Cairns-Sydney you join up with people who have already met!!!!!!!! Think I would much prefer to start with all new people!! Have you heard anything about that?

yeah i did hear about that, starting in Sydney apparently you start all as a new group, and going the other way round you join up with others. how much travel time do you have in total? could you spend time in sydney first before the tour?

I have six weeks off work in total so Im still planning exactly how I am going to spend it. Would defo like to spend some time in Sydney and Im thinking of maybe a week in New Zealand too!! Its so hard to decide, Im nervous about going for too long as Iv never travelled alone before but Im going such a long way I might as well get the most out of it!!!!!
